Manchester’s newest stadium in over 26 years will be the 23,500 capacity stadium being built in the Eastlands area and operated by The Co-op. Called, Co-op Live it will be the biggest indoor arena in the U.K. – with the venue set to open its doors in 2023.
Global recording artist Harry Styles, who has penned hits such as Watermelon Sugar and Golden, will also be investing in Co-op Live.
After growing up in the Manchester area and getting his first job as a Co-op paperboy, Harry said the investment “very much feels like coming home.” He will be heavily involved at the development stage, sharing his valuable insights on fan experience.
Harry has said: “I was drawn to this project on every level, from the opportunities it brings to the contribution it will make to the city, and most importantly, that it will allow even more live music to thrive in Manchester.”
This new company benefit will bring our teams together from across the U.K. Our teams will be able to visit the stadium knowing that they are helping local causes and helping Manchester’s zero-carbon agenda.
Before we choose any benefit for our Club 100 benefits programme, we examine their impact and what it means to our staff who will use them. Partnering with Co-op Live was a natural choice for us, as they already have a massive impact in Manchester with projects such as Groundwork and Young Citizen.
